My Story…
CTE is a devastating neurodegenerative disease caused by repetitive head impacts in sports and military service that can only be diagnosed after death. We are raising funds to support the Concussion Legacy Foundation's End CTE Campaign, which is leading efforts to prevent, diagnose, and treat CTE while supporting patients and families fighting the disease.
The goal of Project Enlist is to dramatically accelerate critical research on traumatic brain injury (TBI), chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in military veterans through brain donation. Research into the physical impacts of military service upon the brain will allow us to understand the links between head impacts and traumatic brain injury (TBI), chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). That understanding will lead to better awareness, triage, reporting, diagnosis and treatment of brain injuries as they occur. Project Enlist also supports veterans experiencing complications from head injury through outreach focussed on awareness and assistance in locating treatment providers who recognize the significance of concussive exposure and its impacts upon wellbeing.
We are competing against US teams like CLF US, Harvard, Cornell Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Brown, and Penn to see who can raise the most funds.
