Those who know me a little bit know how much animals mean for me. I was thought to love them and care about them. Growing up in a country where animal rights were not, and are still not respected caused me a lot of pain and frustrations. When I moved to Canada more than 6 years ago I connected with The Ottawa Humane Society (OHS), a local charity that cares for close to 8,000 sick, injured and homeless animals each year. Because of the wonderful people I’ve met along the way, trying to make a difference against all odds, AND charities like this, I can go to bed knowing that humanity is not lost.
