My Story…
This year, I'm fundraising for the BC Schizophrenia Society in memory of my Uncle Gord who passed away last May. Despite his illness, I'll always remember my uncle as a kind and thoughtful person with a passion for helping others.
BCSS provides support to families across British Columbia through local educators who serve their community. Through working with local mental health organizations, these educators offer a variety of programs, support groups, workshops, psychosocial education series, and information for families. They are truly community heroes.
If you don't have the means to donate, it would make me even happier if you instead checked out the "Education" tab on BCSS's website. Learning more about what it means to live with schozphrenia is one step towards combatting the stigma, prejudice and discrimination experienced along with it.
