My Story…
I started running just over 2 years ago and the process has thought me so much about resilience and how important it is for achieving anything in life. My goal this year was to do a full Marathon.
But, in December I got into a car accident, and all of a sudden things changed, it became so hard that I could bearly walk 1k in Jan, let alone finish a marathon. I have started getting back to running slowly and with your support On May 1st, I will be giving it my all, to finish the 21.1 km distance. Along the way, I will be thinking of true resilient people – those who have lost the battle with cancer, those who are battling cancer, their families & allies, and everyday heroes: Care providers, researchers, doctors, scientists, philanthropists, and fundraisers …
I am privileged that I can pair my resilience goal with a great cause of running for cancer. Please join me and our group of 8 runners that are so grateful for life, science and our health.
Please consider helping me to raise funds for BC Cancer Foundation. They do a remarkable job in cancer research, prevention, and treatment.
No donation amount is too small. If a financial donation is not a possibility for you at this point, you can still support the cause by spreading the word, and by sharing my fundraising campaign with your friends and families.
(Donations to The BC Cancer Foundation are tax deductible for Canadian residents.)
All the best,
Sam Mehrbod
