Help Tyler raise money

For participating in Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend 2022

My story

I have always wanted to run a marathon, I just never wanted to train for one. However, over the last several months I have found a new respect for running. It has provided some sort of escape from stress, screens, work etc. even as it comes at the expense of sleep. It has allowed me ample time to think and reflect on life. What else are you going to do when you have hours of running ahead of you? Many different things pop up in my mind as the miles tick by, but most often I am thinking about my family and how blessed I am to have each and every member of it. As the family continues to grow through marriages and new beautiful nieces and nephews, I cant help but think about how there are pieces missing.

Just a few short years ago, cancer took one of the most loving and supportive men I will ever know. Eric Todd, known as Papi to his beloved littles, was taken far too early from us. He loved his family fearlessly and let his light shine for the world to see. As he continues to watch over us from his new, miraculous vantage point I can almost hear him express his pride in me as I run. He was proud of everyone for their accomplishments, no matter the size, and he wasn't afraid to tell them to their face (often followed by a kiss on their forehead). Papi, I am dedicating this run and every mile leading up to it to you.

Since his cancer journey, my mother in law Katherine, has poured her heart and soul into a new position with Gildas Club Twin Cities so that others facing similar cancer journeys can have access to the much needed community support and education at no cost. Gildas Club Twin Cities mission statement is one that resonates within our family and likely resonates with you or a loved one that has experienced a cancer journey in their family.

"Our Mission is to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community. Because no cancer care plan is complete without emotional and social support. Our one-of-a-kind, evidence-based program of cancer support is provided FREE of charge to those facing cancer thanks to our local community."

Please consider supporting me on this run by donating to this amazing non-profit. While there are countless incredible non profits aimed at ending cancer, I believe it is equally important to support those that are actively facing it until that dream is realized.

"None of us know what tomorrow holds, but for today, invite joy into your heart and share it freely." - Eric Todd
