Help Ellen raise money

Hello friends!  This fall I am running Twin Cities Marathon and raising funds for Gilda's Club Twin Cities.  For those of you who haven't heard of Gilda's it's an amazing place that provides support and resources for people with cancer and their support people.   A few years ago, when I was going through cancer treatment, I discovered Gilda's Club Twin Cities and it was a lifesaver!  Gilda's hosts support groups for people going through cancer as well as for their loved ones.  They also provide educational sessions, wellness classes, art therapy and all kinds of other programs and resources.  It is an amazing welcoming place that is such a valuable resource for people experiencing cancer.  

When I was attending the groups were in-person at the Clubhouse in Golden Valley.  In addition to all the in-person resources Gilda's Club has now expanded their offerings to include virtual programs for people who don't live close enough to be able to meet at the clubhouse.  

I'm so excited to be fundraising for Gilda's Club thorough Twin Cities Marathon.  When I was going through treatment I often used the analogy that itwas like a marathon.  It was difficult physically and emotionally and though I knew it would eventually be over, when I was in the middle sometimes it felt like I would never reach the end.  But, just as with all my marathons I eventually did, with the support of all the folks I met in my support group and the wonderful people who worked and volunteered at the clubhouse.  

I'm happy to have this opportunity to use my marathon experience to help support Gilda's Club and programming that is so valuable to people who are going though such a challenging time.  Please consider helping me reach my goal.
