My Story
When I was 7 years old I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I wasn't supposed to survive but I did and CAMPFIRE CIRCLE (Camp Ooch, when I was going), was an escape for me in the summers. I made friends with kids that were "just like me". I experienced things that I would never have been able to without Camp Ooch. It was such a big part of my childhood and I want to continue to support Ooch, so that all the little children currently struggling have the same experiences I did.
Camp Ooch allows kids to feel normal during the worst part of their lives. Children that are going through cancer treatments are stripped of their childhood but this camp gives it back to them even for just two weeks every summer. These kids deserve this space that was created so many years ago and our help is what they need to keep it going.

A diagnosis of childhood cancer changes life in an instant. For kids and families, it can suddenly feel like everything is about cancer. Simple childhood joys like friendships, birthday parties, or sports teams being left behind in the need for medical appointments, hospital stays, and long absences from school.
Whether it’s in a hospital setting, in the community, online or at overnight camp, CAMPFIRE CIRCLE* fills the void, creating safe spaces for kids to be kids, so families can be families, at no cost to them.
It’s where curiosity and confidence, bravery and acceptance come to play, and healing through happiness is on the agenda, every day, and in every way! Kids and families are never alone, because there’s always room for one more in the circle.
