My Story
I am so fortunate to have survived stage 4 cancer after being diagnosed at the age of 7. The surgery, chemotherapy and radiation saved my life, but the support from my family and my experience with Camp Trillium (now part of Campfire Circle) are what really helped me heal and improve my overall well-being, while just being a kid!
I’m currently on the Board of Directors for Campfire Circle and I’m participating in the Sporting Life 10K event on Mother’s Day with my husband, daughter and Shoppers Drug Mart friends, to help raise funds for Campfire Circle - an amazing organization that gives kids (and their families) the opportunity to step away from all the treatments, tests and follow ups and just be a kid - one who isn’t seen as a cancer patient (even without hair).
The camp is free to families that participate and runs fully on donations. It you’re able to help support me in raising money for this amazing organization, it would mean a lot - all proceeds go directly to Campfire Circle and any amount will help.

A diagnosis of childhood cancer changes life in an instant. For kids and families, it can suddenly feel like everything is about cancer. Simple childhood joys like friendships, birthday parties, or sports teams being left behind in the need for medical appointments, hospital stays, and long absences from school.
Whether it’s in a hospital setting, in the community, online or at overnight camp, CAMPFIRE CIRCLE* fills the void, creating safe spaces for kids to be kids, so families can be families, at no cost to them.
It’s where curiosity and confidence, bravery and acceptance come to play, and healing through happiness is on the agenda, every day, and in every way! Kids and families are never alone, because there’s always room for one more in the circle.
