My Story
I am once again running the sporting life 10K to raise money for Campfire circle (formerly camp Ooch) in memory of Cassidy, one of my best friends.
Cassidy was one of my best friends. She died 7 years ago at the age of 14 due to cancer. Cassidy was first diagnosed with cancer at the age of 7. As a child she had the wonderful opportunity to attend Camp Ooch which quickly became one of her favourite places.
Every child deserves the chance to be able to go to camp, especially children with cancer. They deserve the opportunity to spend time at camp, whether it be at day camp downtown, virtual camp or a week at camp in Muskoka. COVID has interupted kids being able to go to camp for the past few summers however camp is once again happening this summer! Every child deserves the opportunity to laugh, shout, dream and play. They deserve the chance to be a kid. Please help support me in giving more children the opprotunity to go to camp just like Cassidy was able to!

Simple childhood joys like friendships, birthday parties, or sports teams being left behind in the need for medical appointments, hospital stays, and long absences from school.

It’s where curiosity and confidence, bravery and acceptance come to play, and healing through happiness is on the agenda, every day, and in every way! Kids and families are never alone, because there’s always room for one more in the circle.
