My Story
New name, same great organization helping kids and their families fighting cancer. The pandemic has reminded us of how difficult it was for us as a family while Keaton was going through treatment for Leukemia. Isolating as a family to protect her was a regular thing during treatment. Camp Ooch (Campfire Circle) understood that and always took the proper measures to make sure all the kids were safe in their interactions and events, in and out of hospital. Allowing kids to be kids and supporting families through the toughest of times.
Camp has always been about community. That’s why we are fundraising for CAMPFIRE CIRCLE (formerly Camp Ooch & Camp Trillium), in support of kids affected by childhood cancer, and their families. We have amazing news to share! Camp-inspired experiences lost to childhood cancer and the pandemic, like fun, friendship and community, are roaring back to life back, and they need us! Together, we can help kids and families access the healing through happiness that only CAMPFIRE CIRCLE can deliver. Childhood cancer changes lives. So does camp. And so can you.
A diagnosis of childhood cancer changes life in an instant. For kids and families, it can suddenly feel like everything is about cancer. Simple childhood joys like friendships, birthday parties, or sports teams being left behind in the need for medical appointments, hospital stays, and long absences from school.
Whether it’s in a hospital setting, in the community, online or at overnight camp, CAMPFIRE CIRCLE* fills the void, creating safe spaces for kids to be kids, so families can be families, at no cost to them.
It’s where curiosity and confidence, bravery and acceptance come to play, and healing through happiness is on the agenda, every day, and in every way! Kids and families are never alone, because there’s always room for one more in the circle.
