Our Story
While Serena was in treatment, Camp Ooch (Campfire Circle) staff and volunteers made our girl smile, laugh and play even on days where it was hard to find the joy. They found that joy and spread it around our hospital room like confetti for the whole family to take in. It is a gift that we will never forget.
It has been almost 4 years since Serena's last treatment but Campfire Circle is still a huge part of her life. It is one place where she doesn't have to explain why some things are harder for her, where she doesn't have to work to keep up, where her days are filled with opportunities for more fun not barriers to participation.
This summer Serena will attend her first week of overnight camp and we cannot thank Campfire Circle for making that possible.
So this Mother's Day we run to help Campfire Circle spread joy like confetti to the families who need it.

Simple childhood joys like friendships, birthday parties, or sports teams being left behind in the need for medical appointments, hospital stays, and long absences from school.
