Help us raise money

It’s that time of the year again to raise money for an inspiring nonprofit that’s extremely near and dear to our heart on behalf of two very special people. On September 24, 2022, we are running with Team That's Your Pedo, at the Homeboy 5K Run/Walk in honor of our Brother Alfred Luna Jr. and Aunt Ruth Fry. Together, we will raise money and awareness for Homeboy Industries, which for over 30 years has stood as a beacon of hope in Los Angeles to provide job and education training and mental health support to formerly gang-involved and previously incarcerated men and women, allowing them to redirect their lives and get their second act in life we all hope for.

We honor Alfred and Ruth at this 5K because, in their short time here with us, they touched many people’s lives with their humor, positivity, and resilience. And like many of these men and women, at some point, Alfred and Ruth dared to reinvent themselves by going back to school, going for a new job, or learning a new trade in the second act of their life. It takes so much courage to reinvent yourself and begin a new chapter in life, and just like Alfred and Ruth, that is the kind of fearlessness these men and women at Homeboy embody, and hopefully, each one of us, at some point in our life.

Alfred and Ruth not only touched so many people, but made everyone laugh! Our Team name, Team That's Your Pedo comes from one of Alfred's funniest catchphrases. Alfred would crack you up with these three words, “That’s Your Pedo”, because life is too short to be negative. Alfred and Ruth were such strong and inspirational individuals. They both had a positive impact on everyone they crossed paths with, and that is why Team That's Your Pedo continues to honor their memory by supporting an organization that empowers people to heal and transform.

We have been attending Homeboy’s 5K for the past five years, and we can tell you this is our favorite annual event, that by far is filled with so much laughter and inspiration.
