Help Shawn raise money

Hey everybody! I know I am late to the party, but I am running in Run Across Georgia as part of Team SLAM Savannah. The run will be taking place during Memorial Day Weekend. It starts on Tybee Island and will end in Columbus, GA with a total of 277 miles. I am proud to be running with this 12 person relay team. 

Why am I running? My wife, April, trained for this event up until she found out that she was pregnant last November. When I heard her spot was still open, I wanted to pick up where she left off and take her place. I have been running in Marathons and Half Marathons for ten years and I feel like this was God's way of saying that my running can provide a purpose that benefits others. That's why I decided to commit and join the team. 

The charity I have chosen is Mission 22. Every day on average, 22 veterans commit suicide and it is evident that one of the failures of this country is the denial of proper mental health services for those who have hung up the uniform after their service is complete. Mission 22 aims to change that. Not only do they provide mental health support to veterans, they also raise awareness of these issues and provide resources for memorials for those that have fallen. I'm proud to represent this amazing charity and it's mission.
