My Story…
This summer I will be raising money for Spinal Cord Injury BC during the Vancouver Half Marathon. I will try to walk 5km using my walking poles as a mobility aid. This morning (April 9th) I walked 1km for the first time without resting. It took 20 minutes for me to walk 1km using my walking poles. At the moment a 5km walk appears to be daunting task to say the least.
My goal is to raise $3000 for SCIBC. It has been 9 months since my spinal cord injury. I have been working hard with the Rehab Team at Lions Gate Hospital as well as countless hours on my own to gain as much mobility a possible.
Any donation amount you can make towards this cause would be greatly appreciated.
Time for me to start pounding the pavement. Hopefully monsoon season is over and my socks stay dry.
