My Story…
Dear Friend,
In 2001 one of my siblings was diagnosed with breast cancer. The day she told me about the diagnosis I was the one who ended up in the hospital with a full-blown panic attack; I thought it was a heart attack. My heart hurt for her.
Everything that day seemed hopeless. Now 21 years later I know there is hope. We discovered that the MBCC does important life changing work to prevent breast cancer. In effect, this work of research, legislation, and education can create sustainable positive overall health outcomes.
Why do I swim in Against the Tide? I swim in honor of the many women and men affected by cancer. I swim in appreciation for their loved ones. I swim for the children in my family so they can grow up in a healthier environment. I swim to keep the work going so that some day these very same children don’t have to swim in my place. I swim because I MUST.
Our Team Do It Now! will walk and swim in Against the Tide 2022 with a strong sense of determination. We know every step and every glide leads us closer to those children believing we did our best.
Thank you,
Ali
