Help Nicole raise money

For participating in Canada Army Run 2022 / Course de l’Armée du Canada : 2022

My Story…

Hello and welcome to my fundraising page!

 For those who may not know, this is my third time registering for the Canadian Army Run. My very first official running race was the Army Run 5K back in 2009! Last year, I signed up for the Commander’s Challenge, a 5K+21.1K race event, which I completed with 40lbs of hiking gear in the back country of Gros Morne National Park in Newfoundland.

 This year I decided to up the ante and will be completing the Commander’s Challenge once again, this time during my 24th week of pregnancy!

  I’m very fortunate to be part of the team “In memory of Cpl Brian Pinksen”. The team captain, Justin Eddison created the team in memory of his best buddy, whom he grew up with and served alongside in Afghanistan until Brian succumbed to his injuries from an IED explosion in August of 2010. In 2020, marking the 10 year anniversary, Justin vowed to complete the Commanders Challenge for as many years as his body will allow. His efforts and dedication are inspirational, reminding us all to live for those we’ve lost.

The countdown is on as the Army Run 2022 event is virtual from 9-18 Sep! Our fundraising efforts are going towards two different causes, the Support Our Troops and the Soldier On Initiative. Please check out the details in the description below!

Thank you!

Nicole

RUN, WALK and ROLL WITH US!

Welcome to Canada Army Run 2022! We are thrilled that the Army Run family will be able to join hands virtually, and run, walk, or roll in support of the Canadian Armed Forces community.

The aviators, sailors, and soldiers of our Canadian Armed Forces protect our nation at home and abroad. Their families are the strength behind the uniform as they experience frequent moves, lengthy absences, and the risks of family members serving in physically and mentally demanding and dangerous situations.

Support Our Troops and Soldier On, the official charitable causes of the Canadian Armed Forces, are the beneficiaries of the funds raised by Canada Army Run.

Support Our Troops was established to meet the unique needs and challenges faced by members of the Canadian Armed Forces community as a result of their military service. It aims to care of members with physical and/or mental health illness or injury and promoting resiliency in families.

Soldier On is a program of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) which contributes to the recovery of ill and injured CAF members and veterans by providing opportunities and resources through sport, recreational, and creative activities. Since 2007, Soldier On has supported over 10,000 ill and injured members using sport and physical recreational activities to enable social support, build confidence in their abilities and realize their full potential.

 Your efforts will:

  • empower youth to pursue their academic dreams
  • maintain the dignity, independence, and well-being of families during financial hardship
  • send children of military families to camp bringing them a renewed energy and a support network
  • support ill and/or injured members in their rehabilitation and recovery through the transformative power of sport, recreation, and creative pursuits with the Soldier On Fund

The funds you raise will ensure that the women and men of the Canadian Armed Forces have access to the financial resources they need when they need them the most. Thank you for being there for our brave and dedicated Canadian Armed Forces women and men who will always be there for us.

  • habiliter les jeunes à concrétiser leur rêve de poursuivre des études;
  • maintenir la dignité, l’autonomie et le mieux-être des familles lors de difficultés financières;
  • envoyer des enfants de familles de militaires à des camps, leur donnant un regain d’énergie et un réseau de soutien;
