My Story…
Three years ago, our daughter's friend and our friends' son William died in a skiing accident. The loss of such a beautiful boy still weighs heavily on our community. In the years since William died, we've come to realize that we didn't have the awareness to recognize or express the sadness that our kids, or us adults, collectively felt. In response to this enormous grief, a dedicated group of parents worked together to find ways for our kids and our community to work through our loss, and William's Be Yourself Challenge was born. WBYC strives to give children agency over their feelings and teach them that it is powerful and brave to share their emotions. WBYC has brought a sense of purpose and healing for our kids and our community. I am running the Falmouth Road Race with Caroline as part of the WBYC Team to honor William and to raise funds to continue this work.
