Help Karen raise money

I did not know much about Cystic Fibrosis until I met Kristen Hedrick my freshman year at Wheaton College (MA). We were both athletes at Wheaton - Kristen played for the softball team and I played soccer. She lived across the hall from me and we immediately became friends. We would cheer on each other’s teams and even work out together in our off seasons. Kristen had a whole pile of pills she would take every day in addition to physical therapy treatments. It always amazed me how she just took it all in stride, never complaining or making a big deal about it. And even as her role on her softball team changed each year as a result of CF, she always found a way to contribute.  

It has been over 20 year since we graduated from Wheaton and Kristen remains one of my closest friends. In those twenty years, real progress has been made in the search for a cure for Cystic Fibrosis, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short. There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe.

On August 21, I will once again be running the Falmouth Road Race as a member of Team CF. Help me reach my fundraising goal of $1,000 by donating to my campaign. Your gift will help support lifesaving research as well as medical and education programs for Cystic Fibrosis. And, your gift is 100% tax deductible.
