My Story…
I'm running the Falmouth Road Race to benefit Boston Scores as I am passionate about running and have seen firsthand the positive impact of Boston Scores' programs!
I started running in my mid-30s and would huff and puff the 2.5 miles around Fresh Pond a few times a week in an effort to exercise. After having my 2 daughters, I returned to running as a way to take back some time for myself, get outside, manage stress, socialize and build aerobic capacity to keep up with my kids and life around me. It has since become an obsession where I am always thinking about when I can find a sliver of time when I can lace up and get outside. I ran my first half marathon in 2019 and have run 3 since and am excited to run 7 miles to support Boston Scores through the Falmouth Road Race!
I'm choosing to support Boston Scores as I believe in the mission and the programs we offer to Boston youth. I believe in the power of healthy youth-adult relationships and have personally benefited from a caring adult taking the time to build a relationship with a teenage angsty version of myself. I've seen how our teams both on the field and in the classroom build confidence, resiliency, passion, and dedication. I believe in sports equity and giving all youth, regardless of gender, race, and socio-economic background, the opportunity to be a part of a team.
I am grateful to be able to work for such a special place! I hope you will choose to support me/our team with a donation that will directly benefit our ~1,400 students across Boston!
