Help Sophia raise money

Hey there!

My name is Sophie, and if you know me, you probably know I love to run. Ever since I was in 5th grade I began to pursue my passion to run. From there, it was 5ks every weekend, to Plymouth North track and cross country meets, and I worked my way to an NCAA Championship in Pittsburgh, PA after many many miles of training and racing at Merrimack College. 

Every step of the way has been an adventure and I have yet to run the roads of Falmouth. I decided it is about time to accomplish that goal, and run the 50th Falmouth Road Race on August 21, 2022.

 I am so grateful the Best Buddies Team of MA & RI will provide me with the ability to represent their team. I am so excited to share more information about an incredible non-profit. Please consider supporting such an incredible cause. It would be greatly appreciated and I look forward to running for team Best Buddies!

Best Buddies International

Best Buddies International is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Best Buddies currently has 522 middle school chapters, 1,389 high school chapters, and 512 college chapters totaling 2,423 chapters. In the next ten years, Best Buddies would like to expand and reach a total of 7,000 school chapters. 

Best Buddies at my high school, Plymouth North, had such an amazing effect on the community that more schools should include. From Best Buddies prom to holiday festivities and many more, the impact these events had were everlasting.

In addition, Best Buddies of MA & RI is one of the charities involved with the Falmouth Road Race which will be helping those in Ukraine. Since 2019, Best Buddies has had an established program in Ukraine. 

Best Buddies is aiming to fulfill the following requests for those in Ukraine:

-Support for family evacuations

-Temporary living arrangements for those displaced in and outside of Ukraine

-Short-term Best Buddies Ukraine buddy and staff-related assistance

-And with great hope, eventually rebuilding our Best Buddies Ukraine program
