My Story…
Hello, my name is Sarah Rocha. I am a rising junior at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, majoring in Biology. I am also a former Sturgis Charter School student and a resident of Sandwich, Ma. I am happy to be back on the Cape for the summer and even happier to be a participant at the Falmouth Road Race representing Cape Abilities; an organization that serves individuals with disabilities on Cape Cod. This past winter and spring I had the privilege to volunteer my time in a club called Best Buddies and spent hours with a young girl with disabilities. Together we danced, played sports, did art, read books, anything she felt like doing we did it together. She faces challenges every day but joyfully overcomes them every time. To know that a place like Cape Abilities makes the impossible, possible for individuals like my friend fills my heart and gives me a reason to fundraise and run for the cause. I am running the Falmouth Road race in honor of my friend. Cape Abilities is the answer to so many individuals with disabilities.
