My Story…
This year I am so excited to be running the Falmouth Road Race with Team NEADS. NEADS has raised, trained, and matched over 1,900 World Class Service Dogs since 1976. Their Service Dogs are matched with children and adults, including veterans, who are deaf or have a physical disability, veterans with PTSD, and children with autism or other developmental disabilities. NEADS Assistance Dogs are partnered with professionals in the classroom, ministry, hospital, and courthouse settings. I first became familiar with NEADS after reading the story "Rescue and Jessica" to Luke (thanks for the book, Auntie Steph!) This book is based on a real-life partnership between a girl and her service dog, the heartening story of their love and teamwork, and how Rescue helped Jessica gain back her independence. It was truly inspiring to me the first time I read it, and still inspirational to me today, even after reading it at least 150 more times. I am honored NEADS selected me for their team and couldn't be more thrilled to be raising money for this organization that helps so many. I hope to raise $2,000 by August 21st, and I would be so grateful for your support!
