For participating in The 2022 ASICS Falmouth Road Race

My Story…

Over the past few years, empowerHER has forged a special place in my heart.  When I met my fiancée, Kaylee, she opened up about the loss of her mother at age 2, explaining how growing up without a constant female role model presented a plethora of challenges that father figures might not always be capable of overcoming.  With a fortunate stroke of serendipity, her family discovered empowerHER through her aunt's neighbor.

With this organization, Kaylee found empowerment from the strong women who volunteered their time to support the cause. It also gave her the opportunity to connect with others who have experienced the same loss and are battling to navigate through life without a mother figure.

Seeing the well-rounded, brave, and truly tenacious woman Kaylee has become has reinforced my desire to support EmpowerHER, in hopes that we can provide the same options for growth for other young women entrusted to their care. EmpowerHER provides mentorship, guidance, and activities for girls and young women who have lost their mothers.

By running the Falmouth Road Race, we aspire to raise awareness and support for empowerHER, so that no motherless daughter will stumble upon this organization by chance. Rather, they will be actively welcomed to the mentorship program and matched with positive role models from their local community.

The Falmouth Road Race will take place in Falmouth, MA, Kaylee's hometown and where she experienced the loss of her mother.  Please consider donating to help us reach our goal.

Thank you,

Hieu D. Pham
