Back again, this time moving my 73-year-old bones over Falmouth's 7-mile course in raising money for the Cape Cod Times Needy Fund. People assume that Cape Cod is a playground for the wealthy but beneath that glossy image lies a hard truth that many people on the Cape are struggling, especially in these uncertain times. Description
The Cape Cod Times Needy Fund, Inc. has been helping local residents since 1936. Our mission is to provide urgent financial assistance for basic human needs such as housing, food, medical needs, transportation and heat, to individuals and families residing on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket who are experiencing temporary financial hardships. Most of the money raised comes from Cape Cod individuals, families, businesses, clubs, civic organizations, schools and faith communities - "Neighbors Helping Neighbors" is what the Needy Fund is all about.
