My Story…
Hello everyone! I'm a MD/PhD student who had gotten involved in pancreatic cancer research during my PhD, and I am now running to help fundraise for pancreatic cancer research representing the Pancreatic Cancer Alliance (a truly fantastic and passionate group advocating for pancreatic patients in MA). I am also running in honor and loving memory of Uriah Prichard, a great man and father of my childhood friend Tim, who lost his battle to pancreatic cancer earlier this year. We would appreciate any donations, sharing of this page, or and/or simply learning about Uriah in this beautiful statement by his son:
Uriah Prichard was a kind and compassionate soul, a loving family man, and a determined businessman. He always knew how to make people feel comfortable and appreciated no matter the situation and was always surrounded by close friends and family from around the globe throughout his entire life. Uriah left an unforgettable impression of a strong-willed and intelligent gentleman no matter where he went.
Not only was Uriah a deeply passionate gemologist, devoting his life’s work to the research, discovery, and sales of unique and beautiful stones and artwork, but he based his entire life around his family and keeping them happy. Everything he did, he did it for his wife and kids, starting right from when he moved to the United States from Ukraine to settle down and raise a family. Things have certainly not been the same since his passing, and he has been truly missed by all.

In the face of adversity, Uriah was always the same smart, wise, and positive man, even until the last moments of his life before he lost his fight against pancreatic cancer in May of this year. He had a way of calming you down during times of struggle, and making you feel at least for that moment, things would be okay. We miss his guidance and his never-ending support. The least we could have done in return was to show him our love and appreciation tenfold after news of his illness came out.
The odds seemed impossible. A relatively active, generally completely healthy and independent individual being diagnosed with a horrible disease such as pancreatic cancer. It is true what they say sometimes that life is not always fair and that nothing is for certain. Although Uriah’s time on this earth was cut short by this horrible illness, his memory, his stories, and all the lessons he has taught, will remain with us forever. His smile will forever shine on in our minds and we remember his incredible life. From all of us, deep from our hearts, we miss you, Uri. We never could have been here without you and your endless wisdom. We love you. -Tim Prichard
