Please join me in supporting Courageous Parents Network. On August 21st, I will be running the historic 7-mile Falmouth Road Race on behalf of  Courageous Parents Network (Team CPN). 

I have the fantastic job of supporting families of children with rare genetic disorders, medical complexities, and serious illness at Mary Bridge Children's hospital in Tacoma, WA. I am a Nurse Coordinator for our Complex Primary Care and Palliative Care clinics. Each day is different, humbling, and inspiring. The children and families we support are some of the most amazing, courageous, fierce, loving, and often funny humans that I have ever met. They navigate a complicated healthcare system, juggling multiple providers, appointments, procedures, equipment, and medications while trying to care for their child and live life. They fight everyday for services, inclusion, and equipment (such as hospital beds, medical strollers, and supportive seating) while trying to love and care for their child. All this, while making difficult medical decisions along the way.   

Courageous Parents Network is a non-profit organization and educational platform that orients, empowers, and accompanies families and providers caring for children with serious illness. CPN provides videos, podcasts, printable guides, and blogs with wisdom from families and pediatric care providers to help parents and families get through each moment. 

I am grateful for the work they do and for the amazing support they provide to families, caregivers, and healthcare providers. I am super excited to raise money and run on behalf of these special children and their amazing families! And, for those of you that know me- expect lots of happy, thankful tears along the way. :-)
