Help Todd raise money

For participating in The 2022 ASICS Falmouth Road Race

My Story…

Hi everyone, and welcome to my 2022 Falmouth Road Race fundraising page! I have once again joined Team Challenge ALS to honor my dear old dad, George. Dad was an avid runner and competed in dozens of marathons as a younger man (including the 1978 Boston Marathon) and countless other road races throughout his life. The 2022 Falmouth Road Race will be run on August 21 on Cape Cod, and this will be my third time running what is easily one of the most beautiful courses that I have ever experienced.

As many of you know, my dad successfully beat stage 3 cancer eight years ago. He showed incredible strength and determination in enduring the chemotherapy, radiation treatments, and extensive surgery that it took to rid his body of cancer. I competed in my first two marathons as a sort of tribute to him while he was going through these treatments in 2014.

Just a few years later, Dad took on a different battle against a very different foe: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, better known as ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease (fitting, as he's a Yankees fan . . . nobody's perfect). Sadly, Dad passed away from ALS last August, just two weeks after I completed the 2021 Falmouth Road Race as a member of Team Challenge ALS.

ALS was made infamous by the Ice Bucket Challenge several years ago. A lot of money was raised through those efforts, and significant advancements in the fight against ALS were made because of that money. But there is still no cure for ALS, and there is a long way to go before one is developed. That is why I first teamed up with the ALS Association and, with your help, have raised over $15,000 while training for and completing the 2020 Boston Marathon and 2021 Falmouth Road Race!

But the fight to defeat ALS is not over . . . and I need your help again! Every little bit pushes us closer to my goal of $1,500 - my kids, Olivia and Kellen, were the first to contribute to this campaign, again both donating a whole week's allowance to the cause! Whether you can donate $1, $100, or anything in between (or more!), please know that every penny is sincerely appreciated by me, my family, and the entire ALS community.

Finally, I will continue to share on Instagram my training progress, my running exploits around Boston, and our experiences with ALS, so check me out there: @todd_runs_boston.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page, and of course, please feel free to share with anyone and everyone who might be interested. Thanks again!
