My Story…
I am honored to be able to run this year's race on behalf of Angelia, a Hospitality Homes guest who has battled neurofibromatosis - a genetic condition that causes tumors to form in the brain, spinal cord, and nerves.
Thanks to Hospitality Homes, Angelia's mom was able to stay nearby while Angelia recovered from her second brain surgery at MGH. HH also provided help with necessary expenses such as laundry and Ubers to and from the hospital.
From Angelia: "It's nice to have everything that you need to make a rough time feel easier. After all the hustle and bustle of being at the hospital all day my mother was happy to have the apartment to come home to for the night unwind, cook her food to her liking and just reset to deal with all the medical stuff and issues the next day. Being able to stay at HH was a really big help to reduce expenses. A hotel would have been overpriced and way small and a lot of times without a kitchen. I am very thankful and grateful for Hospitality Homes."

Your support means the world to me and will help continue to provide housing for patients and families traveling to Boston for critical medical treatment.
With the prohibitively expensive costs of local hotels- averaging $260 per night- and the lack of sufficient hospital- sponsored housing, many patients struggle with what to do, balancing these and other out-of-pocket expenses with the already high cost of responding to a complex or chronic illness.
