Team Eye and Ear Falmouth 2022
Dave, Tyler, and I have joined Team Mass Eye and Ear to raise funds and support a place that has been near and dear to our hearts. On March 3, 2020, our daughter, Addie, who was 6 years old, was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a rare form of eye cancer that typically affects much younger children. The tumor in Addie's eye had grown significantly and Dr. Mukai at Mass Eye and Ear immediately scheduled her for surgery to have the eye removed to prevent the spread of the cancer through her optic nerve. On March 9, 2020, Addie's eye was safely removed by Dr. Mukai and she began the process of healing through the days of the pandemic. Although having vision in one eye can cause some issues, Addie has been cancer-free for over two years, she is thriving, and participating in several activities: school, piano, soccer, reading, biking, running, hiking, skiing, and lacrosse. We are so grateful for the care we received at Mass Eye and Ear and hope to give back to this special place. Thank you for your support.
