Hello!

I am so excited to announce that this year, I will be running the 50^th annual Falmouth Road Race for the Buzzards Bay Coalition. The Coalition works to restore, protect, and sustain Buzzards Bay from threats like oil spills, nitrogen pollution, and toxic pollution.

Growing up in Marion and since moving back to Massachusetts, I’ve spent a lot of my life enjoying Buzzards Bay and have never had an opportunity to give back to the environment in this way until now. Buzzards Bay has given me, my family, and my friends a lot of special memories. Whether it’s enjoying a drink on the waterfront, taking a boat ride on a summer day, laying out on the beach and going for a dip, kayaking, or just driving by for a quick glance at the water, we all can appreciate the special moments Buzzards Bay has given the South Coast Massachusetts community.

Today, the greatest long term threat to the health of Buzzards Bay is nitrogen pollution. By far, residential septic systems are the largest single source of nitrogen pollution to the Bay. 

Oil spills, trash pollution, and bacterial contamination are other threats that contribute to the health of our beautiful Bay. Click HERE to learn more about all the issues that threaten the health of Buzzards Bay.
