Ellie Fund Misson:

To provide essential support services for breast cancer patients to ease the stresses of everyday life, allowing the focus to be on family, recovery and healing. Providing transportation to medical appointments, light housekeeping, nutritional and grocery assistance, childcare reimbursement, nutritious prepared/delivered meals and integrative therapy services free of charge through our Healing Together Patient and Family Care Program and Metastatic Breast Cancer Support Program help to relieve a patient’s burden while in treatment. The Ellie Fund is honored to provide assistance to breast cancer patients residing in and/or receiving treatment in Massachusetts.

When I decided to run Falmouth RR again, I wanted to pick a foundation to fundraiser for that I knew would be worth all the training miles, the sweat, blood and tears.   The foundation I chose is the Ellie Fund.  

Last summer I met someone through baseball, and our friendship quickly blossomed into something special.   When I first heard about Jenna having breast cancer in 2019 we were not friends yet, but our boys were.  2021 Summer baseball brought us together, and our families together and I’m so thankful for that.  During that summer, Jennas intuition and diligence on finding out why her body was in utter pain for months, barely able to walk around, or even stand for a short period of time, uncovered that she had cancer again in her body.  

Round 2 was so painful on Jennas body, that she decided that being a nurse and working was no longer an option.  For years, her husband has been busting his ass working two jobs, grandparents deeply involved with helping around the home and grandkids, other families helping and even some great foundations have pitched in as well.   One being the Ellie Fund which has helped Jennas family by providing groceries, housekeeping and much more!!
