My Story…
I am so excited to be running the 50th Falmouth Road Race!! This will be my third race in the past year—started with two races in DC a half marathon, then the 10 mile cherry blossom race. Having grown up in Scituate, I’m looking forward to running this great race on the Cape. My photo is from empowerHER’s luminaria event at the Lincoln memorial on Mother’s Day. My first in-person retreat earlier in the day was very fulfilling. I felt like I filled my weekend with so many new connections and opportunities to reflect on my own grief. I lost my mom at 16 and empowerHER has been such a strong community. It feels nice to be able to give back to an organization that has supported me and empowered me through my grief. Thanks for considering donating!

empowerHER® was formed in 2013 with a very specific mission—to empower, support and connect girls and young women up to age 24 who have experienced the loss of their mothers. empowerHER® is a supportive and inclusive community that offers year-round EVENTS for GIRLS that provides peer support and reminds girls they are not alone in their grief. Our MENTOR PROGRAM matches girls and young women with positive role models from the community to show “loss is survivable.”
