Help Hannah raise money

Hi friends and family! On August 21st,  I’m running the Falmouth Road Race to raise money for School on Wheels of Massachusetts (SOWMA), a nonprofit that provides educational support to children facing homelessness. 

SOWMA holds a special place in my heart. I first started volunteering as a tutor at a shelter site during college, and began to realize that I was much more interested in why so many children were experiencing homelessness as opposed to teaching them, and switched my major from elementary education to social work. 

After graduation, I began working full-time at SOWMA as their High School Plus Director working with, and advocating for, high school and college students. While in this role, one of the most remarkable moments (of many) I experienced was bumping into the young girl I once tutored at a shelter--thriving as a high school student, living in stable housing, and volunteering as a tutor. 

During my time with SOWMA, I’ve had the opportunity to witness the incredible work they are able to do in making a difference in the lives of children and young adults who are experiencing homelessness throughout Massachusetts.
