My Story…
Hi all! This year I have the honor to run the Falmouth Road Race with the Courageous Parents Network, a wonderful non-profit organization that both educates, supports, and empowers parents of children with serious and life-limiting illnesses surrounding the care and decisions that they make each and everyday for their child.
As many of you may know, six months ago I began my career as a Nurse Practitioner in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Boston Children's Hospital. Throughout my nursing career as well as in my new role, I have worked with many amazing children and families with a wide array of diseases and disorders. Many of these families face incredibly daunting and challenging decisions surrounding the care of their child, and often struggle navigating them. CPN is there with families caring for children with life-limiting illnesses as they take that first step into a life they had not imagined; and is there for them all along the journey that follows – guiding them with insights from other parents who have gone before on issues such as coping with diagnosis, making complex medical decisions, keeping their family strong and coping after the death of their child.
I am honored to have the opportunity to run for such an incredible cause and hope you will consider donating!
