My Story…
I am running with Team Genesis this year because I have great memories of my two previous races I ran as since becoming a member in 2019. I have always run 5k races and a five or so 5-mile Turkey Trot races. The Falmouth Road Race with be the longest race I will run so far. Ed Shindel inspired me to run this year. We talk on the phone and he told me all of the years he has run the Falmouth. He also turned me on to a weekly race held in Worcester at Sneakerama on Thursday nights. The owner of the store, Steve, also a great motivator organizes the 3 mile run down Lake ave and sometimes through Lake Park. It is a fun outing, year-round too. I have been distance running for about fifteen years. I was an athlete in college and trained with weights and running in the offseason. Running helps me stick to a healthy routine. To be a successful runner I have found that all aspects of life have to be complementary to one another. Eating, sleeping, staying mentally sharp, training and even relaxing are all important to any goal one is trying to achieve.I am optimistic about running the Falmouth Road Race this year. I believe I can grow as a runner and a fellow Genesis Club member.Thank you,Nick Connors
