My Story…
It's been 25 years since my sister, Wendi, passed away tragically in a car accident, leaving behind our beloved Kaylee, who was 2 1/2 at the time. Wendi was 25 years old. While EmpowerHer was not a thing at the time, the support of our family, friends, and community was pertinent to our healing and Kaylee's life story. Please help us support others who have lost a parent with their journey by supporting EmpowerHer. With the generosity of donors EmpowerHer has expanded to supporting girls, boys, and all non-binary children coping with the tragic loss of a parent.
Description
empowerHER® was formed in 2013 with a very specific mission—to empower, support and connect girls and young women up to age 24 who have experienced the loss of their mothers. empowerHER® is a supportive and inclusive community that offers year-round EVENTS for GIRLS that provides peer support and reminds girls they are not alone in their grief. Our MENTOR PROGRAM matches girls and young women with positive role models from the community to show “loss is survivable.”
