My Story…
Cancer is a terrible disease. It has affected so many of us - whether directly or indirectly. I am volunteering to raise money for We Beat Cancer because this issue has touched me personally, more than once. When I was in college, I lost my father to brain cancer. He had fought the diagnosis and its effects for years, bravely but painfully, doing his best to watch his sons grow up and take care of his family. Then early this year, a close childhood friend of mine passed from lymphoma, after a years-long battle of his own, in and out of remission. After a bleak prognosis two years earlier, he, his family, and his friends worked hard to maximize time and memories together, but the final goodbye still came far sooner than it should have.
I'm running in this year's race in support of the cause to find a cure for cancer, and in honor of my father Peter and my friend Jeremy. I love them and miss them both. Please consider donating to support this organization or other groups like it.
