While we hope that we don't have any Covid restrictions in June of 2022, we will be complying with any restrictions in place. Currently we are implementing the Restrictions Exemption Program. By doing so, we are able to offer an event without restrictions including a post race beer garden and food truck!
Evan is a 17 year old boy who suffered a severe brain injury 11 years ago as a result of mitochondrial disease rendering him a non-verbal spastic quadriplegic. Evan struggles every day to cope with chronic pain, low energy levels, and overall quality of life. Evan knows better than anyone how thankful we should be for our health and is inspired to see others, especially kids, being active, having fun and making the most of everyday life.
Evan is our inspiration for this family oriented event that includes a safe, fun non-competitive race for kids as well as a sprint triathlon or duathlon (individual and team). Truly something for the whole family.
Space is limited. Register early so you aren't disappointed.

Fundraising for MitoCanada
MitoCanada was started by the Penny family when Evan began his struggle with Mitochondrial disease.
Mitochondrial disease affects 1 in 5,000 people and is a genetic disease that affects both children and adults. Mitochondria are the ‘power plants’ of our cells that provide the body with all of the energy it needs to sustain life. Mitochondrial disease is at the core of many more well-known diseases that affect millions of people globally - Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, diabetes, ALS, and many others. There are minimal therapies and no cure.
Be There Races supports MitoCanada by donating a portion of race registration fees each year. Help us raise money for this great cause when you register for the Tri for Evan by making a donation and/or gathering pledges from your friends and family. Send this registration link to your friends and tell them to choose "pledge participant" on the left hand side to search your name and make a pledge.
