Help Karen raise money

Hello all!
well the Master Blasters are back  again to participate in this amazing fundraiser!

Last year we had a goal of $500 and we more than doubled it thanks to our wonderful friends and family who sponsored us! This year we have upped our goal to $1000.00!

This event is the longest giant slalom race in the US! The best part is is the money raised goes to an incredible cause that effects one of our own Schweitzer kids Hank, who in 2007 was diagnosed with a very rare genetic disorder called Cystinosis. Cystinosis, affects approximately 500 people in the United States (mostly children), and about 2,000 people worldwide. This disease causes the amino acid “cystine” to accumulate in the body’s cells. Over time, cystine buildup slowly destroys various organs including the kidneys, liver, muscles, white blood cells, eyes and central nervous system.

 In 2008 Hanks parents attended a fundraiser in California to raise money for research, and after talking to physicians and researchers are very hopeful a cure will be found some day soon.

In an attempt to help that day come sooner than later, their friends and family started this foundation to help raise funds for research. To date the foundation has raised over $1,250,000 for Cystinosis Research. Most of these funds have been raised at this event we are participating in on March 26th, 2022.
