My Story…
Power to Be is a non-profit organization that believes everyone belongs in nature. I've been volunteering for PTB for 6 years, and I can't say enough about them - it is an incredible organization that believes finances shouldn’t prevent anyone from accessing nature, and works to remove cognitive, physical and social barriers to the outdoors. I am so inspired by Power to Be, and I gain so much, both personally and professionally, from working with the participants, staff, and other volunteers.
Fundraising is critical to Power to Be's success, and I am participating in their big annual fundraiser: Power to Summit. Our team is "Where the Wild Moms Are" and the aim is for teams of four (for us it'll be 8 including the wee babes on our backs) to cumulatively hike the elevation of Mount Everest from May 27-29. Our team is all new mamas with little babes at home - we're all currently on, or freshly off mat leave! We'll probably have the cutest cheering squad around. We can shave off some required elevation if we raise enough money early enough.. please help save our quads some serious altitude!
