Lyme is so much more than a bullseye rash with some follow up antibiotics.

For Shelby it was months of being sick without knowing why, multiple trips to the doctors, time and time again missing out on activities, and wondering why she constantly had fevers and UTIs.

For me it was watching my resilient, happy, go lucky fearless daughter become someone else. I remember clearly the tears when she asked me "Mom what is wrong with me" and i didn't have the answer. Her anxiousness each time we had to have another test, another bloodwork, another doctor visit. 

We are so fortunate we found out what was wrong and able to treat her. For some Lyme  symptoms are lifelong - from gut issues, to joint complaints to mental health.  And that bullseye rash - doesn't always even happen. In our case I never even knew a tick was ever on her.

I could go on and on - but i'll get off my soapbox. We are walking to raise awareness on Lyme - to make testing for it more common, and education more available.
