My Story…
I will be raising funds, and walking for the sweetest 7 year old PJIA warrior.
Please read their story
In February of 2022, after months of a swollen right wrist with limited range of motion, Rosalie received a diagnosis of Polyarticular Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. What Matt and Abby had previously thought of as growing pains and typical kid aches were found to be Rosalie's immune system attacking her joints.
Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis affects 3 in 1,000 kids in Canada, causing pain and limited mobility in a time when they should be running and playing. Rosalie is typically her ray of sunshine self, but struggles from time to time with multiple simple kid tasks like riding her scooter or picking things up.
Since February 2022, Rosalie's arthritis has advanced from her right wrist to her wrist, knee and foot tarsals. She is now on a second injectable medication, in addition to her weekly injection, to attempt to control her pain and symptoms.
We are running to raise money for Cassie & Friends, a Canadian charity for children with rheumatic diseases and their families. They provide valuable resources for all parents, kids, schools, and all involved in the lives of children with rheumatic disease.
Please help us support this amazing cause that has helped our family!
Many thanks,
Matt & Abby Leschyson
