My Story…
My personal experience with migraine has empowered me to become a thriving patient advocate and caregiver. Migraine has affected my life since birth, as my mother was severely debilitated and spent many days in bed and I was left to care for my younger siblings and working father. I became chronic at age 25, reverted to episodic after my first child, and became chronic again at age forty-five. I have 3 daughters and 2 inherited migraine. Migraine is the second most disabling disease in the world, and costs employers billions of dollars in both absenteeism and presenteeism (when an employee is at work, but functioning at reduced capacity). Please help my team raise funds for The Jefferson Headache Fellowship program so that we can increase research and alleviate the doctor shortage. Best of health, Shirley Kessel
