For participating in Miles for Migraine - Philadelphia 2022

Our story…

I am one of the 60,000 number of people that suffer from migraines. Since I was a child around 6 years old coming home from kindergarten saying “Mommy my head hurts”. I was told that I would have dinner and then eventually vomit and go to bed.

Having had migraines for so long I didn’t think they were such an issue for me until 2015 when after not vomiting with a migraine in years I started to again. They were feeling stronger and effecting my work.

I started migraines injections July 2019 (even had to apply for free medication), I completed physical therapy, had an MRI, ER visit, anti blue light glasses, tried antidepressants (which can help with migraines).

I have my migraine diary dating back to 2017,

and even my neurologist suggested the family leave act which I don’t qualify for.

Finally in December 2020 I was approved for Botox and accepted that I needed more treatment.

Migraine free as of September 17 2022 due to gastric bypass weight loss surgery
