Help Janet raise money

In 2009, at only 12 weeks of age, our beautiful little baby boy Jack was diagnosed with a rare bone marrow failure known as Diamond Blackfan Anemia. We only found this out when he quite literally almost died in my arms. 

When i first hear those words my reaction was "Diamond what? and what's a hemoglobin? What does that even mean?". Since that day in January 2009 i have learned more than I could ever have imagined i could learn about something because I absolutely HAD TO, Jack's life depended on it. 

Since 2009 Jack has had over 200 blood transfusions, over 200 IV starts, and over 4745 nightly hook ups to an infusion pump to rid his body of the iron that accumulates when chronically transfused and he does this all with virtually ZERO complaints.

This is Jack's life, for life unless a cure is found or we choose a risky bone marrow transplant. For Jack there is no other alternative to blood transfusions as he has failed two steroid trials. 

On Monday June 27th 2022  Jack will be graduating elementary school and moving on to high school. He is a hard working, dedicated student who is so well liked by his peers, teachers and administrators. He is the kindest human being i have ever met, to everyone he meets, his siblings, his parents, his friends and his family.  This is one of the first of MANY MILESTONES we want to see Jack achieve. 

There was a time when we thought we were going to loose our precious baby boy to this rare blood disorder but Jack is a FIGHTER on the inside. He is relentless in his will to live. 

This year we are participating in a 5km run/walk to raise funds for a better treatment options and ultimately a cure for DBA.
