Mon histoire…
I am swimming in support of the Ottawa Riverkeeper because I believe in the work it does to protect and preserve this magnificent river and all the creatures, human and animal, who live along its shores and swim in its waters.
I am also swimming in grateful memory of my swim coach, Tom Anzai, founder of this event and a great supporter of amateur swimmers like me.
Last but not least, I am swimming to mark turning sixty this year. Gulp. I won't be breaking any speed records...my goal is just to complete the 4K....before the event ends.

Description
Ottawa Riverkeeper has been bringing people together to protect and promote the ecological health of the Ottawa River and watershed for over 20 years! With a watershed bigger than the size of England, measuring 1,271 km (from source to mouth), the Ottawa River is home to more than 24 imperiled species, such as the American eel and the Hickorynut Mussel.
