My Story…
I have lived with migraine for over 20 years. Since my diagnosis I have searched for ways to manage, cope and survive with the pain on a daily basis. There are currently 39 million+ people living with migraine in the U.S., yet most feel alone due to stigma surrounding invisible illness. Since attending my first Miles For Migraine event in 2017 I met others who live with migraine for the first time and it opened up my world to a possibilities and camaraderie I never imagined growing up in a dark, quiet room going to doctors' appointments everyday and missing school most weeks.
I plan to walk and raise awareness until there is enough funding for research and until we end the stigma around chronic illness. My wish is that our pain is not only manageable, but maybe even one day cured.
Here's to wishful thinking and positive vibes only! Thanks to all of your support for #TeamMigrainiacs!!
