FTKI

For the Kids International is a 501c3 whose mission is to educate and care for orphans and disadvantaged children at Kisima Child Care Academy(KCCA) in rural Kenya and throughout the world. The proceeds from this race will go to support KCCA  as well as the ACCA Child Development Center who supports underprivileged and local preschoolers in Annandale, VA.  

KCCA is run by a Kenyan couple - Martin and Margaret Simiyu. Currently there are 40 orphans at Kisima, 60 Kisima graduates who are attending high school, and 40 high school graduates attending colleges and universities.  There are also 300 day students whose families cannot afford the books or uniforms required for public school.  

A lot of progress has been made through the generosity of many caring people but there are still goals to be met.  Seven of the teachers live onsite but more housing is needed because of the rural location. We also need to improve farming to continue to work towards self-sufficiency.
