My Story…
Hello everyone! When my beautiful baby boy Henry was born in January 2021, he arrived about seven weeks early and had to spend 26 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Brooklyn Presbyterian. Thanks to the amazing, tireless and superhuman efforts of the staff there, our tiny baby was able to grow and thrive. Nearly 20 months later, Henry is a happy, healthy little boy who loves books, blocks and going on runs with dad in his jogging stroller. And thanks to some hard-fought, union-won health insurance and generous parental leave benefits, Beth and I were able to be there for Henry every day he was in NICU and pay for his care without racking up gargantuan medical bills. I firmly believe access to this kind of healthcare and paid family leave ought to be universal human rights regardless of employment. Sadly, that's not the country we live in and not every parent is as fortunate as Beth and I were. That's why Henry, Beth and I are excited to participate in Ellie & Zoe's Race, a charity 5K in support of Madelyn’s Fund, a local non-profit in Charlotte, NC that supports NICU babies and their families. This cause is very important to me and my family and I'm sincerely grateful for any support you're able to give. Thanks so much for your generosity!
