My Story…
On Sunday August 21st, I will be running the Falmouth Road Race as a part of the KeepSmilin4Abbie team. KeepSmilin4Abbie is a nonprofit organization dedicated to stopping anaphylaxis by funding research into its early detection and increasing awareness of its severity. It was founded in 2014 in memory of Abbie Benford, who lost her life from anaphylaxis just eight days before her 16th birthday.
The KeepSmilin4Abbie Foundation has one simple goal #stopanaphylaxis!
The foundation is doing tremendous work in researching a complex condition which impacts millions of people worldwide (including myself)! In 2015, the KeepSmilin4Abbie foundation partnered with Harvard University’s Wyss Institute to advance research and development efforts in the early detection and treatment of anaphylaxis. The immediate goal for "Project ABBIE" is to understand the physiological and biochemical signals that indicate anaphylaxis, and develop a wearable device that continually monitors these signals. The device would be worn on the body at all times to provide control in an uncontrollable situation, potentially saving lives. More information about the foundation and research can be found at this link: https://keepsmilin4abbie.org/
Any donation would be greatly appreciated, and will have a direct impact on a very important cause. Thank you all for the support, and I look forward to running on August 21st!
Donate to help Kyle raise money for FRR KeepSmilin4Abbie Foundation’s fundraising campaign.
